FAQ
VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME
The Woodinville Cemetery Association is an all-volunteer effort, with the exception of lawn mowing and burials.
The cemetery would have long ago faltered without the loving care lavished on it by many people.
To us, your time is as valuable as money. Even if you are just one person, we can use your help. If you have a special skill, we can undoubtedly use it.
We have a number of short-term and long-term projects planned, some of which will require special skills, parts, equipment, and tools.
And there are many on-going tasks that have to get done also, such as:
- Cleanup litter.
- Prune trees.
- Trim around grave markers.
- Repairs and maintenance of facilities.
To volunteer your time, please contact the cemetery representative.
SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS
A service organization, such as the Rotary, Kiwanis, Elks, or other group can be very helpful to the cemetery through donations, work parties, and requiring their members to meet community service requirements doing something for the cemetery.
YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS
The Woodinville Cemetery Association is delighted to work with youth groups such as the Boy Scouts.
Scouts working towards their Eagle rank frequently take on a cemetery project, with great results for all concerned.
WORK PARTY
A group of people can accomplish a lot of helpful things in a short time for the cemetery. Work parties in the past have done much to take care of necessary tasks, such as picking up litter, pruning trees, trimming around graves, raking leaves, and so forth.
IN-KIND CONTRIBUTION
Also valuable to the cemetery are "in-kind" contributions of goods and services.
Assistance of this kind may be tax-deductible and could be a wide variety of things, such as:
Building materials.
- Free media advertising space or air time.
- Attorney time.
- Landscaping design and installation.
Gas for the mower.
- Repairs and parts for the mower .
We have a number of planned projects that will require parts and equipment. In-kind contribution towards these projects are tax-deductible -- and they make you feel good, too!
To volunteer in-kind goods or services, please contact the cemetery representative.
CASH CONTRIBUTION
A cash contribution is also helpful and appreciated.
Donations of any amount are welcome, and are tax-deductible.
There is a suprising amount of expense required to operate a cemetery, to say nothing of making improvements.
Donations go directly towards operations and improvements -- the only people we pay perform critical tasks such as lawn mowing, maintenance, and opening and closing of graves. Everything else is done by volunteers.
We have a number of planned projects that will require parts and equipment. Conributions towards these projects are tax-deductible -- and your money will go towards a worthwhile, long-lasting project. And the contribution will make you feel good, too!
To contribute money, please contact the cemetery representative.
BEQUEST
The Board of Directors sells plots to help defray expenses, but the board would like to establish an endowment fund to provide reliable operation and improvement money for the long haul.
Please consider donating assets from your estate to the Woodinville Memorial Mead.
Such a bequest may be tax-deductible and would be an enormous help to the long-term health of the cemetery.
Please ask your attorney to contact the cemetery representative.
